The Role of Family Firms in Environmental Sustainability
Presenter Symposium sponsored by ONE, STR and ENT Divisions
Tuesday, August 13th 2019, Westin Copely Place-Courier Room
Chairs: Sanjay Sharma and Pramodita Sharma
While family businesses dominate the global economy and range in size from small partnerships to giant Fortune 500 firms, over three decades of extant research in corporate sustainability has focused on non-family controlled firms with dispersed ownership. Family firms are significantly under-researched in this area of inquiry. Without understanding and engaging this dominant sector of most global economies, the division cannot achieve its mission of creating knowledge to understand the role of organizations in building a sustainable world.
