    AMERICAN CHAPTER OF ASFAAG - 2024 CONFERENCE

     

    THEME: Planet, People and Profits: Promoting Sustainable Businesses for Triple Bottom-line

     

    CALL FOR PAPERS AND PARTICIPATION

     

    February 29 – March 2, 2024: Florida International University, Miami, Florida

     

    Mode of Presentation: In Person & Online

     

    Academy of Sustainable Finance, Accounting, Accountability & Governance (ASFAAG) in association with the Florida International University, College of Business (FIU Business), will be hosting its 2024 conference for the American Chapter with the theme: "Planet, People and Profits: Promoting Sustainable Businesses for Triple Bottom-line?". The conference aims to provide a venue for stimulating discussions and research on Sustainability.

     

    The Keynote speaker for this event is Professor Laura Starks, the George Kozmetsky Centennial University Distinguished Chair at the McCombs School of Business, University of Texas at Austin. The Conference will also feature panels including policy makers and corporate executives.

     

    We invite theoretical, empirical, or applied paper submissions in the areas of sustainability. Suggested topics include, but are not limited to:

    ·       Climate Finance

    ·       Climate Change: Mitigation and Adaptation

    ·       Sustainable Business Practices and Firms' Profitability

    ·       ESG Disclosures and Corporate Reporting Practices

    ·       Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Analytics, and Machine Learning in the Context of Sustainability

    ·       Managing the Triple Bottom Line

    ·       Striking the balance between shareholders and other stakeholders' interests

    ·       Sustainability and Gender Diversity

    ·       Financial Reporting Quality and Accountability

    ·       Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

    ·       Financial Innovation and Climate Transition

    ·       Carbon Emissions, Carbon pricing, Net-zero Commitments

    ·       Biodiversity Finance

    ·       Green Washing

    ·       Green Banking

    ·       Role of Boards and Sustainability

    ·       Sustainability and Executive Compensation

    ·       Other Finance and Accounting Areas

    The conference is structured as a workshop-style event, facilitating in-depth discussions and feedback. Consequently, a limited number of papers will be chosen for presentation. Alongside the selected papers, the conference will also include keynote speeches, presentations, and panel discussions featuring distinguished scholars, prominent corporate figures, and government leaders who have been invited to participate.

     

    PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE

     

    Papers will be submitted via the submission link at: https://forms.gle/8tqUS2tDYxa67rPC6

     

    Submissions should be original and complete manuscripts in English and in PDF format. They should begin with a title page that includes the names, e-mail addresses, and affiliations of all authors as well as a 200-word abstract and keywords. A blinded PDF copy of the paper should also accompany the submission. All the submitted papers will be reviewed by a panel of Conference Committee Members.

    PROGRAMME OUTLINE

     

    The Conference will take place over three days at the Florida International University main campus in Miami, Florida. Day one of the conference will have an Inaugural session, academic keynotes, industry-academia panel and CEO Speak session. Days two and three of the conference will feature paper presentations and development workshops.
