1-year Post-Doc Position on Contested toxic compounds in pesticides patents - Bocconi University, ICRIOS Research Center
Job Description: The candidate will participate in a project that seeks to explain how patenting trajectories evolve in the chemical industry, as a consequence of compounds being contested. The candidate will be expected to clean and exploit a database on contested compounds included in patents in the chemical industry, with a focus on pesticides. Next to patent data, the database will include different types of sources of contestation (scientific, governmental, or from the civil society). The candidate will also support the research team with the development of the research hypotheses, and most importantly, with their empirical testing. Therefore, strong training in econometrics (modeling, event studies, diff-in-diff, analysis of regression outputs) is required, as well as a PhD in economics or management and related fields. Fluency in English will be assessed during the oral interview. Interest in innovation strategy is preferred.
