    Dear colleagues,

I am reaching out in my role as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Supply Chain Management (JSCM) to invite expressions of interest for participation in an upcoming Professional Development Workshop (PDW) at the Academy of Management conference.

The PDW-"Toward Novel Ways of Conducting Qualitative Research"-is part of JSCM's broader qualitative development initiative and includes a dedicated paper development component (Part 2) for scholars working with novel or underutilized qualitative approaches.

We warmly invite researchers who are planning, designing, or in the early stages of qualitative projects to submit a short research idea/proposal. Selected participants will have the opportunity to join the PDW and receive structured, developmental feedback in mentor-led roundtables.

    How it works:

    • Interested scholars submit a research proposal/extended abstract to the organizing team (Eugenia Rosca, Aline Seepma, and Victoria Stephens).

    • A selection of proposals will be invited to participate in the PDW.

    • During the workshop, participants will engage in small-group discussions with experienced mentors and peers, with the goal of strengthening research design, methodological coherence, and publication potential.

Importantly, while this initiative is led by JSCM, we explicitly welcome submissions from scholars across disciplines. Projects do not need to be situated strictly within traditional supply chain contexts, as long as they speak to phenomena relevant to JSCM's scope (e.g., inter-organizational settings, networks, systems, value chains, and related domains).

This PDW is part of a broader effort by JSCM to expand the range of qualitative methodologies in our field and to build a more inclusive and supportive research community. In particular, we aim to create opportunities for scholars-especially early-career researchers or those with more limited access to established networks-to engage with methodological experts and receive formative guidance.

The PDW will take place at the upcoming Academy of Management conference (final scheduling to be confirmed in June).

If this opportunity may be of interest to you-or to colleagues or doctoral students in your network-please feel free to share this invitation widely.

For additional context, I have attached the recent JSCM editorial on qualitative methodologies and the call for papers associated with this developmental initiative.

We very much hope you will consider participating.

    Warm regards,
    Davide Luzzini
    JSCM Co-Editor-in-Chief
