The Organizations and the Natural Environment (ONE) Division of the Academy of Management
invites applications for the 2026 ONE Distinguished Educator Award.
This award honors outstanding educators who have demonstrated excellence in teaching and
learning on ONE-related themes exploring the vital relationship between organizations and the
natural environment. It recognizes impactful classroom practices, innovative pedagogies, and
scholarship that inspire future leaders to integrate sustainability and responsibility into
management practice.
Educators play a crucial role in shaping future leaders who can respond to urgent environmental
challenges from pollution of air, water, and land to the depletion of renewable and non-renewable
resources caused by organizational activity. Through innovative teaching and meaningful learning
experiences, educators can foster the shift toward more sustainable and responsible practices in
management and society.
This award recognizes and celebrates exceptional educators who have advanced teaching
accomplishments in the classroom and scholarship on teaching and learning on ONE topics for
the last five year period (calendar years 2020-2025 inclusive). The award advances the teaching
aims of the ONE division by promoting learning about the relationship between organizations and
the natural environment.
Nominees should demonstrate diverse teaching expertise at the undergraduate, graduate,
