Greetings ONE members and friends!
I am pleased to announce the results of the ONE Division elections. I would first like to thank all of you who voted; our participation rate – over 28% of members – was significantly about the overall AOM participation rate. Moreover, AOM' shared with us yesterday that " The final participation rate Academy-wide was 24%, with some DIGs seeing voting rates as high as 27% suggesting our rate was among the highest – if not the highest – of all divisions. I would also like to thank the ONE Membership and Nominations Team and especially Natalia Ortiz and all of the ONE teams and others for nominating such an impressive field of candidates.
Below please find the results of our election. We had great candidates for all of our vacant positions and a particularly hotly contested race for the Integration and Internationalization Team with five candidates all drawing significant shares of the vote. In the end, we had a tie between the top two candidates – Haiying Li and Viviane Clement – and we have agreed to have Haiying begin her term this year and Viviane to begin hers next year. A special welcome to Judith Walls who will be serving in the 5-year leadership rotation beginning as program chair elect (PDW chair) this August and to all of the winners, candidates and nominators for making ONE a vibrant and welcoming community. Please plan to join us at the ONE business meeting, social and other sessions to meet and welcome our new team members.
