    Dear Colleagues,

I am looking for some readings through which I can expose and educate my senior students taking a course on strategic management on the strategic implications of climate change on corporate sustainability. I aim to explain to them how various catastrophes associated with climate change can influence different industries, and corporate strategies, competitive dynamics and competitive advantage of corporations within an industry.

I will be grateful if you can please guide me on to appropriate readings, including web-based resources, which will help me in my objectives. Thank you so much.

    Kind regards,
    Aarti

    Arti,
The recent issue of harvard business review has an article in teh march issue called "competitive advantage on a warming planet." this sounds like it would fit with what you are needing for your class. It involves the auto industry in the united states.

    Dear Aarti,

    Here are some suggestions:

Ans Kolk and David Levy have done a lot of work on the political strategies by firms in response to climate change policies.

Andy Hoffman recently published several cases and a summary report on current firm strategies in response to climate change.

My own work is on the strategic implications of adapting to climate-induced impacts, and on how firms might best prepare for those. The second article below is early work in that domain and makes the case that current sustainability management approaches (and strategies) need to be expanded by climate change impacts. I will send it to you directly.

I would be very interested to see the full results of your query.

    Regards,
    Monika
