Dear Colleagues,

The Research Network for Business Sustainability has generated two research projects funded by practitioners to which I encourage you to apply. The calls for proposals are posted at http://sustainabilityresearch.org/index.php?fa=Opportunities.show (click Funded Knowledge Projects). The projects were identified and funded by our Leadership Council of practitioners with representatives from industry, government and non-governmental organizations. They are a direct result of the efforts of the Network to bridge research with practice.

The first project pertains to valuing business sustainability and the second to community engagement. The calls are open to all qualified applicants, although preference will be given to research teams involving at least one resident of Canada. The proposals are short, but so is the deadline: August 6, 2007.

The Research Network for Business Sustainability seeks to bridge research in business sustainability with practice. Approximately 200 researchers are engaged in the Network. The Network is funded by the Canadian government and the corporate sector.

Please let Tom Ewart (tewart@ivey.uwo.ca), the Managing Director of the Network, or me know if you have any questions.

    Sincerely,

    Dear Tima,

in the context of the first knowledge project you are
advertising, the book I jointly edited with Stefan
Schaltegger on Managing the Business Case for
Sustainability (Greenleaf) could provide some helpful
references, especially on the Sustainability Balanced
Scorecard tool, but also on other methods.

    Best regards,
    Marcus
