    Dear Colleagues,

    I hope all is well.  Could you help us identify candidates for an Environmental, Safety and Recycling Manager at Western New England College (WNEC)?  WNEC is a small (2,500 undergraduate and 2,500 graduate students), private, residential college in a suburban setting in Springfield MA.  WNEC is about to embark on a ten year strategic plan including a significant component on sustainability.  Please see the attached.

    Environmental, Safety and Recycling Manager

    Working with the College administration, this position is responsible for advising, developing and coordinating comprehensive environmental, safety and recycling programs for all Western New England College operations.  Establish an Environmental Health and Safety presence on campus to support the college's compliance with all state and federal EPA and OSHA regulations and standards.  Design, implement and oversee EPA/OSHA safety and compliance policies and procedures. Coordinate the Colleges recycling program and ADA compliance programs.  Work toward achieving improved sustainability on campus. A BS degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental

    Management, Chemistry, Biology, or related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (waste management, safety or regulatory affairs, etc.).  The

    ideal candidate will also have several years of experience in the environmental or safety field, and a solid working knowledge and understanding of federal and state EPA and

    OSHA regulations and requirements.   Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, have the ability to produce high quality work in an environment where there are multiple projects and often pressing and changing priorities and deadlines.  Must be self-motivated, organized and able to determine work priorities effectively and work independently. Ability and desire to learn new environmental procedures and practices.
