    Dear Colleagues,

we are writing to inquire if any of you might be interested in an
opportunity for collaborative, cross-cultural education in environmental
management. For the past three years, we (Edeltraud Guenther, Technische
Universitaet Dresden, Germany and Mark White, University of Virginia,
USA) have co-taught a common course, "Investing in a Sustainable Future"
developed with funding from the Procter & Gamble Foundation.

In this course, teams of German and American students work together on a
real-world project related to environmental management, coordinating
their activities via email, Skype and/or videoconferencing. Students are
only in close contact with one another for about three or four weeks,
which means they must quickly learn to work efficiently, identifying and
dividing up responsibilities, searching for information, and preparing a
presentation, which they share in a joint videoconference at the
conclusion of the course. If you are interested, we can send you last year's syllabus.

For the next semesters we are searching for a third university elsewhere
in the world that might be interested in collaborating on this project.
Course feedback has been uniformly positive -- students say it provides
them with a window into another culture that they wouldn't otherwise
    have experienced.

If this sounds like an interesting opportunity for you, we invite you to
contact us and we would begin making plans for how we might coordinate
    with one another.

Thanks for your consideration -- we look forward to hearing from you!

    Edeltraud Guenther and Mark White
