    Dear colleagues,

We are encouraging applications for a Visiting Professorship in RENEWABLE ENERGIES at Leuphana University of Lueneburg (DEADLINE 31 July 2012!). The position is a German "W3" professorship, which is the highest possible level for a professorship in Germany. The applicant is expected to do research at the interface of renewable energies with entrepreneurship, business management or regional development (economics). The following excerpt of the detailed job description (See attached file) reads as follows:

"The holder of the research-focused Visiting Professorship in Renewable Energy Management is expected to address, both analytically and in pragmatic terms, the question of what entrepreneurial changes and opportunities follow from the EEG's requested structural change in the energy industry. The prospective candidate must also analyze the resulting impact on the regional economy and develop recommendations for future action. Starting points can be found in the fields of energy saving, energy efficiency and energy management as well as in the area of electricity generation from renewable sources, project organization, and production of biomass-based energy sources, including the effects on supply chains. Against the background of the ongoing debate on the advantages of biofuels (including the "plate or tank" controversy), the discussion on plant-based fuels could also be relevant to the Lüneburg region. Topics like new business models, the establishment of organizational structures that work from the point of view of energy, and the launch of models for civic participation in decentralized energy supply systems are of great interest."

Details of the position are attached to this mail.
