Accounting Instructor for Weekend/Evening program, Bard MBA
The Bard MBA in Sustainability has an immediate need for an experienced instructor to teach a two-month course in Accounting Fundamentals. The Bard MBA is structured around once-per-month weekend intensive Residencies held in New York City, with once-per-week, evening online instruction in between these in-person Residencies. The successful candidate will possess:
· A Master's degree, or higher, with at least a master's level accounting concentration or CPA designation
· At least two years of recent undergraduate or graduate teaching experience in the field
Experience and/or aptitude with teaching in an online environment, and familiarity with business sustainability, desirable but not required.
Specific requirements include:
Weekend Residencies (New York City)
· Attend two days of each of the following residencies:
- Friday October 19- Monday October 22, 2012
- Friday November 9-Monday November 12, 2012
· During each Residency, deliver two 3-hour lectures in-person to the students
· Host in-person office-hours for students during Residencies, and 1.5 hours of virtual office hours weekly
· Provide an assessment of student performance through regular assignments including a final exam
Online Instruction
Deliver 1.5 hour lectures once weekly on Tuesday evenings between 6:45-8:20PM using the Adobe Connect webinar platform. Instruction for the use of the webinar technology, along with live technology support, will be provided. The required Tuesday evenings are: 10/9; 10/16; 10/30; 11/6; 11/20; 11/27; 12/4 and 12/18.
Potential for a longer-term adjunct appointment to the Bard MBA faculty is possible for a successful candidate.
