Business Innovation Institute:
The Business Innovation Institute is a strategic union of two pre-existing
LCB
Centers of Excellence, The Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship (LCE
<http://lcb.uoregon.edu/App_Aspx/LceHome.aspx>)
and The Center for Sustainable Business Practices (CSBP
<http://lcb.uoregon.edu/App_Aspx/CsbpHome.aspx>),
created to capitalize on the realization that innovation is the driving
force
behind both entrepreneurship and sustainable business practices. Besides
this core value, the two centers share the experiential approach to
education
that is common to all LCB Centers of Excellence. Each center brings
complementary strengths and capabilities to the partnership.
Center for Sustainable Business Practices:
Through its association with the state and the University of Oregon, the
CSBP has a
natural leg up in sustainability. CSBP has strong roots in business
operations and was founded as the Center for Sustainable Supply Chain
Management. Affiliated faculty in Management, Decision Sciences and
Marketing are actively engaged in academic research in sustainability.
CSBP has taken a major role in providing a connection for the LCB to a
broader
community‹on campus, in the Pacific Northwest, and across the country.
This includes involvement in two of the five ³Big Ideas² identified by the
UO,
Sustainable Cities and Green Product Design. The CSBP is also the home of
UO Net Impact <http://netimpact.org/>,
which brings together MBA students with other campus stakeholders
interested in
sustainability and links them with a national network of more than 10,000
leaders.
Teaching Duties:
Up to four (4) courses at either the undergraduate or graduate level.
Courses may be related to business sustainability and/or business
disciplines
such as management, operations, or marketing.
Program Duties:
* Mentor and counsel current MBA students
* Serve as Faculty Advisor for Net Impact Club
* Work with BII Managing Director in development
of a robust undergraduate and MBA alumni tracking and engagement
program.
* Lead the development and management of
international experiences for CSBP students
* Serve as recruiting coordinator for
prospective MBA students in the CSBP program; including meeting with
students, speaking engagements and attendance/participation in potential
recruiting events
* Work with BII Managing Director and CSBP
Academic Director to develop, evaluate, and enhance the CSBP
undergraduate
and MBA curriculum on an on-going basis. This includes potential
course changes, creation of for-credit seminars, external partnerships,
speakers, case competitions, conference and/or events.

* Manage the on-going academic development of the SPP program in
consultation with the CSBP Academic Director and Oregon
MBA Assistant Dean
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess management skills, teaching
capabilities, and
a credible voice in the sustainable business community. In addition:
* Master¹s degree in business administration,
engineering, or a related field is required.
* A minimum of 5 years of strong work experience
is required.
* Strong analytical skills and excellent
communication skills are required.
* Ability to network, build relationships, and
collaborate with diverse constituencies (students, faculty,
administrators, donors, and business community) required.
* Prior teaching experience is required. For
appointment at rank of senior instructor, six years of proven teaching
experience required.
* Ability and commitment to work effectively
with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds required.
* Prior academic administrative experience is
desirable, as is association with an established academic program in
sustainability.
* Ability to teach at the MBA level in areas
such as life cycle analysis, reverse logistics, design for environment,
or
corporate innovation for sustainability is desirable.
