Join us for a national day of action focused around political corruption, democracy and climate stalemate.

On April 17th, Bard's Center for Environmental Policy invites you to to be part of a nationwide screening of the powerful film The Island President – the best movie about climate change of the last few years.  The film will be followed by a live webinar with the film Director, Jon Shenk, Former UN Deputy Permanent Representative to the Maldives, ThilmeezaHussain, and also Executive Director and Co-Founder of 350.org, May Boeve.  Dr. Eban Goodstein, Director of Bard CEP will moderate the webinar discussion.

If your department would like to screen this film, sign up here! Otherwise, please feel free to forward this message to student leaders.

The Island President links the struggle for democracy and human rights with the fight to stabilize the climate. This is the exact challenge facing us right here in the United States.  Billions of dollars in fossil fuel money is corrupting our democracy and poisoning the future.

We can seize the moment to tackle climate change. President Obama said it clearly in his State of the Union address, "We can choose to believe in the overwhelming judgment of science and act before it's too late."

Campuses across the US are signing up to screen The Island President.  Check here to see which campuses are already screening the film on April 17th at 7pm EST.

    Best,
