    PLANETARY BOUNDARIES WORKSHOP
2 July 2014, Erasmus University Rotterdam, The Netherlands

"The Planetary Boundaries framework provides an unambiguous picture of where environmental change is happening, and to what extent. Business plays a vital role in helping mitigate environmental change. If you bring facts to business, it will act. By working with [scientists] we can bridge the gap between business and science, get access to the best scientific facts and then establish where business solutions are most needed, and make positive changes to our world."  Peter Bakker, President WBCSD.

The Corporate Eco-Transformation Centre, RSM cordially invites you to participate in a one-day workshop to discuss and set the research agenda for meaningful action to flourish within Planetary Boundaries. The framework was utilized as the main scientific input for the Action2020 plan launched by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) at the World Economic Forum in November 2013. For more information, log on to action2020.org.

The day will bring together top management academics, multinational business and natural scientists to discuss the critical issues we face and the current/future initiatives seeking to tackle them. Participant numbers for the workshop will be kept small enough to enable a lively, interactive day while retaining the objective to hear multiple perspectives. We are delighted to already have confirmation of attendance from a number of high profile participants.

The event will be held at the heart of the Erasmus University campus in the newly opened Erasmus Pavilion. Please note that the date of the workshop, 2 July, is the day before the start of the EGOS conference hosted by the RSM, Erasmus University.

A limited number of PhD bursaries of maximum €750 are available for travel/accommodation expenses. PhD students from natural and social sciences are encouraged to apply and must send a one page motivation letter accompanied by their CV.
For participation and all enquiries please email Mohammed Hassan: 374899ma@student.eur.nl. Deadline for submission is 1 April 2014.

We hope to see you in Rotterdam in July!

Best regards from the organizing committee,
