    Greetings,

The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher
Education (AASHE) invites you to provide feedback on the latest draft
version of STARS (Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System).
The document, STARS 0.5, is available at
    www.aashe.org/stars/documents/STARS_0.5.pdf.

STARS strives to provide a standardized system for tracking information
about sustainability performance and enable better information sharing
about sustainability practices. It includes a major section on
Education and Research where faculty input would be particularly
helpful. Over 90 colleges and universities are pilot testing STARS
throughout 2008. Additional information about the project is available
    at www.aashe.org/stars.

Feedback from faculty and sustainability educators has been tremendously
helpful in developing the system so far, and will be critically
important in refining the system as the project continues. While we
welcome feedback about the entire document, feel free to focus your
comments on the topics or sections in which you are most experienced or
interested. The comment period on this draft will last until May 9, 2008.

Thank you for your interest in this project. Please direct questions
and feedback about STARS to stars@aashe.org. I look forward to hearing
    from you!

    Warm Regards,

    Julian

  • 2.  AASHE seeks feedback on campus sustainability rating system

    Dear Julian,

Since 2006 we have been working on greening our campus, which is
situated in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. In 2006 and 2007 this was merely
a voluntary initiative by academics and university support staff of the
Rotterdam School of Management (RSM). We started up a pilot project
called Greening RSM. We soon found out that we would be much more
successful in greening our business school, if we would have a
university-wide greening the campus project. After lots of hard work and
discussions on board level we have accomplished to have a
university-wide greening the campus project and I have been installed as
the coordinator working for two days a week on this.

We are in need for a way to benchmark ourselves with other universities,
but all ratings are American focused, including yours. I wonder whether
we, as a European university, could get involved in your program.

I am looking forward to your reply and could provide you additional
    information if you like.
