    THE HELSINKI SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS (HSE) is <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Finland</st1:place></st1:country-region>'s leading university-level school of management. HSE has a strong international orientation and emphasizes quality research and teaching in management at the highest level. The <st1:city w:st="on">Helsinki</st1:city> School of Economics (HSE), the Helsinki University of Technology (TKK) and the <st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Art</st1:placename> and Design Helsinki (TAIK) are merging into <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Aalto</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype></st1:place> from January 1, 2010 onwards. The Administration and <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Services</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">Center</st1:placetype></st1:place> of the Helsinki School of Economics announces the opening of a 5-year:

     

    PROFESSORSHIP in ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT, especially Corporate Responsibility

     

    The duties entailed in the professorship in organization and management, in particular Corporate Responsibility, include research on the field and teaching and supervision of theses and dissertations in the Department of Marketing and Management, coordination of teaching more broadly at HSE and cooperation with HSEEE. With respect to the content of teaching, the emphasis is on the development of new, innovative business models that are socially and environmentally sustainable. A research program on corporate responsibility in the developing countries and emerging markets, which is part of the HSE globalization research program, is being started up at HSE, and management of the program is also included in the duties of the professorship. Special emphasis in filling the post will be placed on the ability to work in international education and research projects and in joint research projects with businesses.

     

    Applicants are required to demonstrate merits in both research and teaching. In addition, applicants will be expected to have practical knowledge of the field designated for the post and be proficient in the English language. The applicant nominated for the post must also obtain a physician's statement from the Helsinki School of Economics' occupational health care provider regarding his/her fitness for the post.

     

    The ordinance on Qualifications and Duties for Posts at Universities (309/93) amended by statutes (1083/95, 463/98, 1069/98 and 1217/00), and the language proficiency requirements as well as the instructions regarding application for the post (the number of publications to be provided to the experts is limited to ten) are included in the explanation of the rules governing nomination for appointment to the post.     The salary for the post will be based on levels 8-10 on the demands level chart for teaching and research personnel in the new salary system of Finnish universities, the job-specific component of the salary thus being EUR 4176,45 – 5319,86 per month. In addition, the appointee will be paid a salary component based on personal work performance.
