    Dear Colleagues,

The third Multinational Enterprises and Sustainable Development International Conference (MESD'12) (www.mesd2012.org) will be held on December 12-14 in New Delhi, India. The conference is jointly organized by the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College of the University of Delhi (India) which also hosts the conference this year, the ICN Business School (France), the CEREFIGE of the Université de Lorraine (France), and the Georgia Tech Center for International Business Education and Research, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, USA.

The MESD'12 raises the key question of the role multinational enterprises play in the dynamic sustainable business environment. Because of the size and scope of their trans-border activities, multinationals are global environmental actors and stewards. Their corporate strategies can accelerate or slow the sustainable development process of the regions. Contrasting U.S., European and Indian based multinational enterprises, roadmaps will yield innovative solutions for one of the central issues of our era.

The following topics are only indicative of topics broadly fitting into the core of the conference: MNEs and managing sustainable business dynamics, MNEs strategic choices and sustainable development, factors and motivations of sustainable practices, MNEs and ethical issues, MNEs and innovative sustainable strategies, and MNEs and emerging nations. Other submissions fitting into the theme of the conference are most welcome.

Publication: We are looking forward to a rigorous and focused exchange of ideas. From this, we will publish selected papers and presentations in a proceedings book and in a special issue of an international business journal to enrich a growing body of policy and management literature. New Delhi, as the conference venue of the MESD'12, is a world political capital in the world's largest democracy and in the fastest growing emerging market economy, exemplifying many of the challenges and opportunities raised by corporate sustainable development initiatives on the threshold of this new century.
