Assistant to the Director
Our new MBA in Sustainability is seeking an Assistant to the Director. The new low-residency MBA program will enroll its inaugural class in the fall of 2012, with classes meeting once each month during the semester for four-day, weekend-intensive sessions in New York City. The Assistant to the Director position will be based on the main Bard Campus in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY.
The Assistant to the Director will coordinate the planning and logistics associated with the launch and development of the new degree. Primary responsibilities in the first year are wide-ranging, include managing enrollment, registrar services, career services and student support; coordinating space needs and other logistics in Manhattan, Annandale and upstate NY; providing technical support for the distance education component of the curriculum; and providing budgetary management. As the program grows, and additional student support staff are added, the Assistant to the Director position is envisioned to evolve accordingly.
The successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree, master's preferable, with a strong preference for at least two years experience in university or college administration. The position requires excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills, and the ability to self-manage. We are especially interested in candidates with interest or experience in the sustainable business field. Experience with distance education technology is not required.
