EURAM 2016 Scientific Track Responsible Global Value Chains (RGVCs)

    CALL FOR PAPERS

[Deadline 12 January 2016 - To download from 1st December to 12 January]

EURAM 2016 « Manageable Cooperation? » is a true opportunity to call contributions that better specify strategies, practices and tools facilitating more responsible global value chains and their governance.

Scientific Committee for the Responsible Global Value Chains Standing Track for the EURAM 2016 Conference to be held in the beautiful city of Paris from the 1-4 of June 2016. The theme for the conference is Manageable Cooperation.

Katherine Gilchrist and I are responsible for a new topic which concerns responsible and sustainable water supply chain management and governance. If you have an interest in environmental and water-specific research, we would like to share the call for papers with you and would be delighted if you would consider making a submission. We hope to engage with a large number of people at this event and would love to see you there.

We welcome authors from different academic backgrounds (management, sociology, economy, environmental sciences, law, political sciences and so on), as well as reflexive experts and practitioners in order to promote a multiple framing approach. Different dimensions of GVCs' governance towards more sustainability and responsibility are explored in this standing track. We especially want this year to explore the various aspects of responsibility as far as international supply chains or global value chains are concerned.

Do institutions/organizations favor (or not) RGVCs?

Do green Challenges (climate changes, pollution, etc.) support (or not) RGVCs?

Do territorial characteristics and sets back (or not) RGVCs?

Do tools/instruments, standards, indicators, etc. facilitate (or not) RGVCs?

Standing Track RGVCs' initiatives: The best papers are published in a special issue « RGVCs & Cooperation» by the International Journal of Sustainable Development (IJSD). We launched last year (Euram 2016, Warshaw) the RGVCs with 6 regional coordinators that forms part of the RGVCs Observatory (in progress). The Track team organizes an international conference on RGVCs with IJSD, Conservatoire national des arts & métiers (Cnam, Paris), notably related this year to the Cop 21 process (November, 13rd, 2015). For EURAM 2016, we welcomed a new topic led by Roger Burritt and Katherine Christ (Macquarie University, Australia) focused on more responsible and susbtainable water's supply chain management and governance. They will organize their call for paper with synergies with our Standing track who integrated their interesting proposal.
