Do you want great reference materials on sustainability in business and industry?
I teach business environmental management and sustainability and have compiled an extensive library about it on CDROM which I am making available for a small cost ($45). The CD has over 500 public-domain publications on most aspects of sustainable business, pollution prevention and cleaner production, from publishers such as the UN, US EPA, non-profits, etc, all personally selected for quality and with an annotated bibliography so you can find the right stuff fast. Academics will be particularly interested in the Promotion section that includes extensive materials on policy for clean industry and clean technologies, and how to promote sustainable practices to business and communities. It has a European policy emphasis because they write up the most policy analysis about this stuff and are aggressively pursuing sustainable economies. The non-policy stuff is mostly directly practical, how-to-do-it information, along with some general materials.
The annotated bibliography of the whole CD library is online at
www.cleanerproduction.com
This will save you many many hours if you are looking for reference materials on sustainable business. These are the best references I have found over the last 8-10 years and have kept and used. You can teach at least several courses with the included reference materials, I have done so myself.
I hope it's helpful,

We have received funding to develop resources for faculty wishing to integrate sustainability into their teaching. The outcome of a focus group with about two dozen academics from across the faculties identified their wanting:
1. a course, with complete handbook, for faculty wishing to integrate sustainability
2. a database of case studies that relate for sustainability, sorted by discipline
3. more networking opportunities for those working on issues addressing sustainability
4. a model for delivering any curriculum (in two-week module) through a lens of sustainability
We would be grateful for anyone sharing case studies with us. We would be happy to make the database available to all those interested. (input on the other areas would be well received as well).

Debbi,
I convened an meeting last week of a more than a dozen faculty from Vet Med, Biosystems Engineering, Fisheries and Wildlife, Sociology, Urban Planning, Environmental Science and Public Policy, Ag. Econ, Packaging, Building and Construction Management, etc. to begin exploration of a university wide specialization in sustainability. This is a totally inclusive process that will continue throughout the summer with the hopes of having a new undergraduate program in the university governance system before the end of the year. It doesn't help your "disciplinary focus" since it doesn't have one, but I can't think of a discipline that won't be involved. Many more disciplines were invited but could not attend the first meeting. There is significant interest here.

On May 10th, the Association of American Colleges and Universities, the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, and the University Leaders for a Sustainable Future met with leaders from over a dozen national discipline associations, including communications, psychology, sociology, anthropology, biology, chemistry, engineering, geography, economics, religion, philosophy, political science and more. We told them about the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development, and the need and growing national trend to teach sustainability literacy and engagement throughout higher education.
The leaders from the disciplinary associations were very interested. Each brainstormed how their discipline association could contribute to creating a sustainable future and how they could be part of the higher education U.S. response for the Decade. In following up, the associations have expressed interest in knowing who in their disciplines are already engaged in sustainability education.
Would you please send me directly an email of:
a summary of what you are doing with sustainability education,
your contact information
your discipline, and
the discipline association(s) where you are a member and whether it is ok to share this information with your discipline association
Also please let me know if you are interested in helping make sustainability come alive within your national discipline association (willingness for both small and large efforts are welcomed.)
Thank you,
