Hello from Seattle, all.
Has any school created a chair or position on finance and climate change?
My alma mater U of Washington has a really strong climate change program and
a strong Finance dept in the B school, the combo seems obvious to me, and
the Dean thinks it sounds good at first hearing. A finance prof in that
chair could model financial impacts of climate change for porfolios,
investments etc and also help climate change modelers think about what are
financial impacts of the changes they predict. Seems like this would
produce data of great use to the finance sector.
