Dear Ron,
I wrote and used extensively a case on "Marks & Spencer - The Business Case for Plan A". The British retail icon M&S developed an extensive sustainability strategy called Plan A and promised to invest 200m GBP in its realization. When the economic downturn hit the market, M&S not only needed to cut investments, but also demonstrate that sustainability can enhance the bottom line. This case explains the strategy and lets the students analyse the business case for the different components of Plan A.
The case can be found at ECCH - Case Ref 709-018-1 Teaching Notes Ref 709-018-8.
Of course, I am curious on any feedback you might have in case you are using the case in class.
All the best from rainy Brazil
Heiko

Betreff: Sustainability-related case study suggestions?
Hello,
I am updating my sustainability-focused “Business, Government, & Civil Society” MBA class. I would like to find high-quality case studies with teaching notes to use in the class. The core topics I cover in the class are:
- The business case for sustainability;
- Stakeholder engagement;
- The public policy process;
- The roles and interaction of business, government, and civil society, include the growth in the number and the influence of NGOs.
I see there are some links to case study resources on the ONE website, but I would appreciate any specific recommendations on case studies that you have written, used, or know about.
Please email you recommendations directly to me at
ron.roman@presidioedu.org or send them to the listserv.
Thanks for your assistance.
Cheers!
Ron
