The Pollution Prevention (north america) and the Cleaner Production (everywhere else) communities have had technical and policy centers set up since 1990 - 17 years now - all over the world.  Take an online tour at http://cleanerproduction.com/Directory/directory.htm

People interested in sustainability should be aware that these communities have the deepest technical and practical implementation base for business sustainability in the world.  You can get practical guidance, field studies and program evaluations on everything from process improvement to stakeholder management to CO2 reduction to financial incentives.  I put together a CDROM collection of the best non copyright stuff you can browse on the link above.  http://cleanerproduction.com/hits/program.htm

Education resources around this topic of cleaner production are found here http://cleanerproduction.com/Directory/sectors/education.htm

I am amazed how much new stuff is being promoted now that is simply duplication of many efforts done before, without apparent knowledge of this fact.  A big part of the problem is that the phrases "Pollution Prevention" and "Cleaner Production" simply are disasters as marketing terms.  They were invented by technocrats who failed to do any market tests of the terminology, and then built programs using the terminology.  The average person has no idea what P2 and CP  mean.  "Green business" on the other hand is easy to communicate.
