  • 1.  Request for help from German and US business students/faculty

    Folks - I have a student who wants to do a comparative study of perceptions
    of CSR- comparing German and US business school students. We are looking
    for at least two other US schools and three German schools to participate.
    Ideally, we would get surveys from about 150 students in each school (grad
    or undergrad). They survey is very short - not more than 10 minutes - so it
    could be done at the beginning of a class. If you think you might be able to
    help us - it would be greatly appreciated. Note that the German survey will
    be written in German. They survey would be implemented some time next
    semester.

    Sounds like it could be an interesting study.  I may be able to help if you'd be interested in responses from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the Univ. of Virginia.  The Darden School has a strong orientation toward ethics in business and it would be interesting to see if a bias toward CSR shows up in the students.  I'm an Adjunct Professor teaching a full credit course on Sustainable Enterprise in an accelerated one-week, 40 hr. course for 2nd year MBA students commencing Jan 9th.  I'll have about 30 students in my class, and then I could ask colleagues in other classes if they would administer the questionnaire in their classes.  Let me know if that would be of interest.  Will the questionnaire be ready to administer in early January 2006 so that we could administer it the week of Jan. 9-13/06?  If it will not be ready, then it won't work for me as I will only be there for a couple of weeks at the beginning of January.  Otherwise, I live on the West coast.
