    Hi Alex,

well this is not a sustainability or environmental management centre as such.

But TiasNimbas Business School has a competence centre called GLOBUS. This has
focused on the intersection of globalisation and sustainable development as an
interdisciplinary issue at University of Tilburg since 1999. So it has a long
    track record of work.

GLOBUS recently became a competence centre of TiasNimbas Business School at The
Tilburg campus and with that its focus has shifted to Corporate Global
    Responsibility and Governance.

Just for information the argument is that a company can not be sustainable in
the Brundtalnd sense as it is the wrong unit of analysis. Indeed,we take the
view that sustainable development is rightly understood as a societal project,
to which business can contribute through corporate responsibility and through
    new models of governance.

You can find the web site by following TiasNimbas and/or GLOBUS.

Alex, to add to your growing list, let me add the new MBA program I am directing, the Marlboro College MBA in Managing for Sustainability (www.mba.marlboro.edu).  The program is partly online and partly based on weekend intensives at our Brattleboro, Vermont facility.  We will launch in January with a class of 10-15 students.  A new curriculum has been developed, assisted by considerable information, inspiration, and mentoring from the West Coast pioneers of this alternative sustainability-oriented MBA model: Bainbridge Graduate Institute and Presidio School of Management.  As the program develops, we will gladly share our experience in pushing the concept of the MBA beyond traditional boundaries.  We also anticipate eventually basing some research here.

I should add that ONE-L subscribers who might like to teach as adjunct faculty in this program should contact me.

    Best regards,

    Ralph Meima

Second Life Island: Marlboro Grad Center

COME TO OUR UPCOMING MBA OPEN HOUSES!!
PHYSICAL OR VIRTUAL - TAKE YOUR PICK...

On 11/7 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, we will hold an internet-based chat open house.
All interaction will be via text.  Contact me for more information.

On 11/15 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, we will hold an open house in the virtual-reality
environment of Second Life, on the Marlboro Grad Center "island" (or "sim").
Interaction will include voice, text, and avatar presence.  To obtain a free
account and an avatar, visit http://www.secondlife.com.  We will provide
coaching to help you get set up.  Note that this should be initiated at least
several days before the Second Life virtual open house, as you must ascertain
whether your computer can handle the client program for SL access, download this
rather large client, create your account/avatar, and take a short 1-2-hour
tutorial to get started.  But, as I said, we can help.
