WE ARE HIRING!
3 POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCHERS AND 1 PHD STUDENT IN THE FIELD OF INNOVATION
STUDIES, SUSTAINABILITY TRANSITIONS, ENVIRONMENTAL GOVERNANCE, URBAN STUDIES,
(ENTREPRENEURIAL) FINANCE, MANAGEMENT, ENVIRONMENTAL ECONOMICS, OR RELATED
DISCIPLINES.
‘Nature-based solutions’ (NBS) in urban areas are attracting attention amongst
(inter)national policy makers, firms and other urban stakeholders as an
alternative to investing in grey infrastructures. NBS are deliberate
interventions that are inspired or supported by nature. They can be
cost-effective and provide environmental, social and economic benefits while
also helping to build resilience. As such, NBS have the potential to respond to
climate change, enhance biodiversity and improve environmental quality while
contributing to economic regeneration and social well-being.
Yet there is a substantial gap between the promise of NBS and their uptake. The
positions are part of a larger new Horizon2020 project ‘NATURVATION’ – led by
Durham University – which will take an internationally comparative approach to
advance assessment approaches, analyse innovation and transition dynamics and
develop new partnerships and knowledge to build capacity for the uptake of NBS.
Knowledge institutes and urban partners across Europe are collaborating in this
new transdisciplinary project. Apply now and become part of this exciting
endeavour!
