Call for Proposals: Papers, Panel and Roundtables

28th Annual Association for Public Policy Analysis & Management Research Conference
    November 2-4, 2006
    Madison, WI

    Deadline: March 10

APPAM is a preeminent venue for the presentation and discussion of applied public policy & management research, attracting more than 1,000 participants for 150+ sessions across three days of meetings.

The environmental program of APPAM is encouraging researchers to submit paper proposals, and especially panel proposals, related to environmental policy & management. While APPAM encourages presentations on a broad range of public policy issues, the environmental program is encouraging papers that address the appropriate design of public policies that reduce organizational inefficiency and increase environmental improvements; industry efforts to "self-regulate" their environmental impacts, lessons regarding effective implementation or management of voluntary environmental programs at the local or national level; assessments of NGO alliances with regulators and/or corporations, analyses related to environmental justice and evaluations of the effect of redistributional programs that affect environmental protection; and the merit and effectiveness of stakeholder engagement in environmental issues.

Paper proposals require a 400 word abstract. Panel proposals require a separate abstract for each paper within that panel. In addition, panels usually should include no more than 3 papers, a chair, and a maximum of 2 discussants. Roundtable proposals should include no more than 4 participants plus a chair/moderator. APPAM strongly encourages proposals that include practitioners in substantive roles and otherwise are inclusive of diversity in the field.

All proposals for the 2006 APPAM conference are due by 11:59 p.m. E.T. on Friday, March 10. Decisions regarding acceptance and rejection of papers/panels are to be announced in late June/early July 2006. For additional information visit www.appam.org.
