Dear Colleagues,
The Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado is preparing to host the sixth annual Leeds Net Impact Case Competition. This competition brings together students from 20 MBA programs nationwide to analyze a case that integrates aspects of sustainability into the typical business case.
We are currently in search of a case for the 2007 competition, scheduled to take place February 23-24, 2007, in Boulder, Colorado. The case would ideally require the students' analysis to address a particular element of sustainability (social or environmental) or focus on a "sustainable" industry – e.g., renewable energy, sustainable tourism, green building. We would also be very much interested in a "live" case in which the case issues are developing in real time.
If you have a case that fits these criteria that will be completed by February 1, 2007, and that has not yet been published, we would be interested in hearing from you. Please contact Jane Pater by email at jane.pater@colorado.edu or by phone at 815.482.1417 with your interest or your questions.
The competition has historically kept the case content (including company identity) secret until the week of the competition, so we are looking for a case which has not been used, or has had very little use, in the classroom.
For more information about the Leeds Net Impact Case Competition (generally speaking), please visit http://leeds.colorado.edu/businessandsociety/interior.aspx?id=295,72,993,271.
Sincerely,
Tom Dean
Please contact Jane Pater if you have ideas for an appropriate case study,
