Greetings All,
I am teaching a graduate level experiential course on Industrial Ecology
this Summer at Antioch New England
Graduate School. The goal of the course is to have students learn the
basics of IE and then work with a
particular business toward developing a case study that incorporates
what they have learned in class. Ideally,
students would apply the concepts of design for the environmental,
pollution prevention, life cycle analysis,
energy efficiency, process mapping and full cost accounting toward
hepling the business be on the road
toward reducing its ecological footprint and saving money. The course
will be a relatively short summer
course and there is not alot of time to have students learn these
concepts and apply them in the field. I was
wondering if any of you could suggest articles, tools, books, and offer
syllabusues that accomplish what this
course is trying to accomplish. I naturally have my own ideas but would
like to hear from others working
along these same lines.
Cheers,
Tony Sarkis
