The Network for Business Sustainability (NBS)'s latest report features the 10 most significant sustainability challenges for businesses in the coming year. Fifteen Canadian business leaders on NBS's Leadership Council identified and prioritized these challenges during a one-day roundtable. These are topics on which business is actively looking to researchers for insights.

The theme of this year's report, linking the different challenges, is the need for systems change. Companies emphasized that they have picked the "low-hanging fruit." Leading companies have worked to integrate sustainable business practices into their products, services and operations. To continue their sustainability journey, leaders recognize the need to tackle system-wide challenges beyond the boundaries of their organizations. Only by working with others - consumers, regulators, even competitors - can further progress be achieved.
