    The Milgard School of Business at the University of Washington Tacoma is
    seeking a senior scholar to lead its new Center for Corporate Leadership and
    Social Responsibility beginning in Autumn 2007. This scholar will:
    * Serve as Director of the Center, leading staff and an advisory board in
    developing programs that enhance corporate leadership and social responsibility
    among students, faculty, businesses, and the community.
    * Provide leadership in conducting research that contributes to the scholarly
    reputation of the Center.
    * Help educate the next generation of leaders about ethics, integrity, social
    responsibility, and good citizenship in organizational contexts.

    Qualifications for the position include:
    * An earned doctorate in a business discipline.
    * A substantial record of scholarly achievement to merit appointment at the
    rank of professor.
    * An active research program that addresses the interrelationship of business
    and society.
    * Strong teaching capabilities at the baccalaureate and MBA levels.
    * Organizational and administrative skills to guide the startup of an academic
    center including relationship building across university and business
    communities as well as planning strategy, overseeing staff, and managing
    operations.

    Assistant Professor or Visiting Assistant in Management

     

    The Milgard School of Business at the University of Washington Tacoma invites applications for faculty positions in management beginning September 16, 2011 (Autumn Quarter) based on qualifications and interest.  Candidates who apply will be considered for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position or for a full-time Visiting position at the assistant, associate or full professor levels with a one-year appointment (with the possibility of renewal for a second year).

     

    We seek candidates demonstrating strong potential for excellence in scholarship and teaching at the undergraduate and MBA levels.  An earned doctorate in management or a related discipline is required.  The ideal candidate(s) would have an active research program in either the macro or micro area of the field and be able to teach in two or more of the following areas:  principles of management, international management, strategy, or social responsibility and ethics.  The position offers the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of a growing business school and campus.
