ONE Strategic Framework


The Organizations and the Natural Environment (ONE) Division is dedicated to the advancement of research, teaching, and service in the area of relationships between organizations and the natural environment.


Broad Objectives

  1. Promote scholarship on the topics above among its members and provide a channel for such scholarship via Academy paper sessions and symposia;
  2. Develop a network of scholars interested in these topics through electronic media and social gatherings at the Academy annual meetings;
  3. Promote environmental management practices for the Academy itself by educating other Academy members as appropriate; and
  4. Encourage scholars and students in related business disciplines and in related non-business disciplines (e.g., environmental sciences, environmental engineering, environmental law, and environmental ethics) to participate in the
  5. Academy and to work with practitioners in these fields to promote environmentally-sensitive policies and practices worldwide.

Strategic Priorities for Coming Years (in no particular order)
•    Increase ONE’s capacity to support members by enhancing the volunteer team through recruiting efforts and creating new roles where needed.
•    Enhance the documentation of ONE’s history.
•    Create stronger connections between ONE executive leadership and teams, all ONE leadership and members.
•    Continue building the ONE community, with a focus on enhancing ONE’s year-round accessibility outside the AOM conference.
•    Minimize ONE’s and, where possible, the AOM’s carbon footprint
•    Build on the attendance of European scholars at the 2025 Copenhagen conference by keeping engaged in future years, particularly those that normally do not regularly attend the AOM conference.
•    Reaffirm ONE’s importance to the AOM and broader scholarly community.
