Call for applications for the 2026 award:

The ONE-SIM Outreach Award honors researchers who have published a paper on ONE and SIM issues and have effectively communicated the insights of their paper to broader, non-academic audiences. To apply for the 2026 award, outreach activities must be based on a paper published (or accepted for publication) in a peer reviewed journal between 2021 and 2025. The paper must focus on issues related to the ONE or SIM divisions, but the applicants do not need to be a member of these divisions.

The winner(s) will receive a plaque at the annual meeting of the Academy of Management. Their research insights and outreach strategy will be featured by the Network for Business Sustainability and a video will be produced. The application deadline for the 2026 award is April 30, 2026. Applicants need to submit their paper and a 500-word summary of outreach activities via www.outreach-award.org/apply

The jury consists of three scholars who have successfully communicated research to broader audiences:

    ·         Andrew Crane (University of Bath)

    ·         Andy Hoffman (University of Michigan)

    ·         Sarah Kaplan (University of Toronto)

The jury is supported by a pre-selection committee featuring Sylvia Grewatsch (Brock University), Suntae Kim (Johns Hopkins), and Marleen Wierenga (Norwegian University of Science and Technology). The Network for Business Sustainability and the Rotterdam School of Management support the award. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the award coordinators Maggie Cascadden (cascadde@ualberta.ca) and Emilio Marti (marti@rsm.nl).

    Tips from last years' finalists:

To spread best practices, we have produced videos in which last year's winners, Eun Su Lee (University of Melbourne) and Betina Szkudlarek (University of Sydney), and runner ups, Charlotte Karam (University of Ottawa) and May Ghanem (American University of Beirut). In the two short videos, they explain how they engaged in outreach activities: www.outreach-award.org/winners
