The Essential Conversations in Business and Human Rights (BHR) organizing team (Tricia Olsen, Annie Snelson-Powell, Kathleen Rehbein, Judith Schrempf-Stirling, Harry Van Buren, Michelle Westermann-Behaylo) are happy to announce our second reading group event on October 22nd, 4pm (UK time).
Joining forces with Dr Onna Malou van den Broek's Corporate Political Actors (CPA) reading group, we will hear from the lead author, Dr Visa Penttilä, title "Decontesting Corporate Responsibility for Collaboration".
This article examines how non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and firms can collaborate on a contested corporate social responsibility (CSR) issue in lobbying the Finnish government for human rights due diligence regulation.
The paper's findings expand the literature on CSR decontestation and contribute to a better understanding of how NGOs and firms can form and collaborate in a cross-sector coalition to advance a contested issue.
