Dear colleagues
We are delighted to invite submissions to our EGOS 2026 Sub-theme 17 “Advancing Routine Dynamics in the More than Human Sphere”. Our goal is to explore how routines take shape in worlds where humans, nonhuman actors, technologies and ecological systems are deeply entangled.
Taking the opportunity of the online format, we have designed a subtheme program to better foster imagination, exchange, and lively debate. First, we will have different keynote speakers offering fresh perspectives on routine dynamics in more-than-human contexts.
We are honored to welcome:
-
Heather Anne Swanson whose work in Environmental Humanities and more-than-human methodologies offers powerful insights for organizational research.
-
Martha Feldman whose pioneering contributions have shaped our community and continue to guide the development of routine dynamics.
-
Paul Leonardi whose research on digital technologies, data practices and algorithmic actors opens new ways of thinking about routines in digital environments.
-
Brian Pentland will join us for the closing session ‘The Future of Routine Dynamics’, offering reflections on forthcoming research directions and helping us collectively consider how the field can evolve.
Second, we are hosting two interactive roundtable sessions specifically targeted at early career scholars. These sessions provide space for developmental feedback, in-depth conversations and intellectual connections. We are grateful to have a dedicated group of colleagues who will facilitate these roundtables together with us, including Katharina Dittrich, Waldemar Kremser, Christian A. Mahringer, Brian Pentland, Birgit Renzl and Paul Spee. Their expertise and commitment will help create an encouraging and constructive environment for emerging scholarship.
We warmly encourage you to submit your work. We particularly welcome contributions that engage with more than human approaches to routines, that study the role of ecological, digital or material actors or that broaden our understanding of routine dynamics in new empirical contexts. At the same time, we are equally enthusiastic about all contributions that advance core questions in routine dynamics.
We look forward to receiving your submissions and to shaping the future of routine dynamics together. Submit your short paper by Wednesday, January 7, 2026, 12:00 CET here https://www.egos.org/jart/prj3/egos/main.jart?rel=de&reserve-mode=active&content-id=1756645686117&subtheme_id=1733775222111
Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
