    Call for Applications

    ONE Doctoral Consortium

84th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management (AOM)

    Chicago, Illinois

The ONE Doctoral Consortium offers a networking, learning, and research reflection opportunity to doctoral students engaged in organizations and the natural environment (ONE) research. The consortium allows doctoral students at a more advanced stage of their program to engage with other like-minded students and gain valuable mentorship from junior and senior faculty in their field. Students will be able to network with colleagues, ask candid questions to faculty, and discuss their research projects in an open environment. The program will include research feedback sessions, panels on publishing your dissertation, and workshops on teaching ONE topics.

The ONE Doctoral Consortium is currently planned to be held in-person as part of the 84th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management (AOM) in Chicago, Illinois.

    Funding Support

The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation will provide full funding for the conference (i.e. for travel, registration, hotel costs, etc.) for two students from regions that have been historically under-represented at AOM (i.e., universities/institutions that are not located in North America, Europe, and Australia).

Additionally, ONE has a limited number of conference fee waivers for doctoral consortium participants who will not otherwise be reimbursed for their conference fees.

To apply, please submit the following documents at:

    https://forms.gle/bMmVfSpdf4Tm92DG8

    1. A one-page memo stating your motivation for participating in the ONE Doctoral Consortium

    2. A two-page research abstract containing information about the main objectives, theoretical perspective, methodological approach and expected findings of your dissertation

    3. A CV

    4. If applicable, a short statement (1 page max) regarding your funding situation if you are not able to access funds to pay your conference registration.

    5. If you want to be considered for a Kauffman Foundation scholarship, please upload a short statement (1 page max) regarding your eligibility, your financial need, and how the scholarship would help you support your participation in the consortium and the AOM conference.

Applications are due by April 30, 2024.

Once accepted, PhD students need to send a 10-page abstract of a paper by May 31, 2024 which will form the basis of personalized feedback to students provided by a faculty mentor.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

    With best regards,

    Lucrezia Nava (Lucrezia.nava@baruch.cuny.edu) & Kevin Chuah (k.chuah@northeastern.edu)
