OVERVIEW
This PDW is for scholars researching and teaching science commercialization and academic entrepreneurship, with a focus on responsible innovation - ensuring university-generated knowledge creates ethical, societal, and sustainability value, not just economic value. We'll explore how research, teaching, and practice can intersect to embed responsibility from the earliest stages of innovation, and how scholars at all career stages can align their work with growing expectations for demonstrable societal impact.
FORMAT
The 2-hour workshop includes:
- Short presentations from panelists on research, teaching, and practice interventions that embed responsible innovation
- Small-group discussions to reflect on the presentations and identify challenges and opportunities in participants' own contexts
- Closing discussion to consolidate takeaways and identify next steps for collaboration
