The Sustainability in Academia platform – Call for reviewers.
Education on sustainability is a rapidly growing area not only for business practitioners but also for educational institutions such as business schools. A challenge that remains is that faculty may feel daunted to bring sustainability material into their courses and need support in this process.
A partnership between the University of St Gallen (HSG), WWF Switzerland, and the Network for Business Sustainability (NBS), aims to address this gap with a project called "Sustainability in Academia" We are developing an online portal that acts as both an interactive workspace for faculty and a source of rich sustainability teaching and learning resources across different disciplines.
These resources are suitable for integration into new or existing courses at a higher educational level. The platform will support faculty both in terms of multidisciplinary sustainability knowledge and innovative learning methods. It also provides a space for faculty to interact with peers and share their own material.
Importantly, "Sustainability in Academia" does not intend to reinvent the wheel by creating new materials. Instead, we collect what already exists, have it quality-checked (by experts on the topics) and organized in a way that makes it easy for faculty to find and use, and make it available through one common portal.
We have already developed the concept, and a beta version of the platform is available here . (check it out and let us know what you think).
Now, we want to ask for your help! Specifically, we are seeking experts like you to participate in the quality control process. We have a two-step review process. Our in-house academics take care of the first quality checks. In the second step, subject matter experts ensure that the content submitted is relevant and of high quality.
We are, therefore, looking for volunteer reviewers to go through white papers, reports, videos, podcasts, webpages, etc. and complete an evaluation document to confirm the appropriateness of the suggested resources. On average, it takes 30-60 minutes to do a review.
