    LUT Business School is recruiting for the position of a professor of sustainable business. 

    The position is situated at the associate/full professor levels of the tenure track and will be filled through an open call for a fixed term of four years (associate professor) or permanently (full professor).

    LUT Business School's mission is to educate research-based and responsible business professionals in an inspiring learning community rooted in a university of technology. Our research and education are characterised by an entrepreneurial, global and sustainable mindset and our core strength is close collaboration with the business world combined with strong theoretical, analytical and methodological expertise. 

    The professorship of sustainable business strengthens and complements the competences of the school by focusing on corporate responsibility and sustainable business. We appreciate high-level academic impact, project experience, and thought leadership in different areas of sustainable business, including corporate responsibility and ethics, circular and regenerative economy, and sustainability-oriented strategy and innovation.

    LUT Business School supports newly recruited tenure track staff by providing the necessary support, resources, and research environments. For instance, this position includes the possibility for recruiting a fully funded junior researcher (doctoral student) in the field of the professorship.

    The field of the professorship includes e.g. the following themes:

    • corporate responsibility and ethics
    • sustainable strategy and business models
    • sustainability-oriented innovation
    • circular and regenerative economy
    • twin transition: role of digital technologies, data, ecosystems and platforms for sustainability

    The candidates are expected to present strong international research merits in at least one of the above-mentioned areas. Practical experience and proof of successful international research collaboration is considered an advantage. The candidates must have research and teaching merits, proof of effective research and the acquisition of external research funding, and international experience. We value documented experience in successful teaching and instruction in a multicultural environment. Spoken and written fluency in English is required.

    The duties related to the field of research also include the following: 

    • international high-impact research
    • preparation of national and international research and education projects
    • planning and implementation of undergraduate and postgraduate education
    • supervision of final theses and postgraduate studies
    • increasing awareness in a way that serves the industry, the economy and the society
    • taking part in the preparation of projects in other LUT units as an expert
    • general administrative work related to the operation of the university
    • close collaboration and interaction with businesses in the field
