We invite you to join our January Storytelling Session, a free monthly event organized by LEAP! (Leverage resources, Expand awareness, Accelerate change and Partner) ,the PRME Working Group on the Sustainability Mindset.
The January Storytelling session, moderated by Isabel Rimanoczy, will feature Our Storytelling Presenter Kent Fairfield, Ph.D
He is Associate Professor of Management at the Silberman College of Business, Fairleigh Dickinson University, in New Jersey, USA and has published on sustainability management and improving pedagogy. He brought these two interests together in "Educating for a Sustainability Mindset," published in 2018 in Journal of Management for Global Sustainability. He teaches OB and leadership classes, including service-learning and personal development. He earned an M.A. and Ph.D. in Social and Organizational Psychology from Columbia University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
"Enabling Undergraduates to Acquire the Sustainability Mindset"
I will describe my journey to get closer to my own sustainability mindset and how I have designed an introductory sustainability course to try to do the same for undergraduates. Changing my syllabus over time deepened my understanding of what the mindset can be. I can now better appraise activities in the course by classifying them into those that contribute, respectively, to Knowing, Doing, and Being.
