A friendly reminder for those interested in this position. Please feel free to pass on to suitable candidates!

Organizational Behavior, Leadership and Innovation for Global Sustainability

The Leading People and Organizations area of the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University (New York City) invites applications for one tenure track Assistant Professor position in the field of Organizational Behavior, starting July 1, 2020.  A specific focus or connectivity to the broader fields of leadership, diversity, entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainability is desirable but not required. Candidates should demonstrate a track record and potential to conduct high-quality research and hold a Ph.D. They should be willing to teach and support our programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University operates in the Jesuit tradition, in which high quality education is viewed as a path to leadership and service, and a call to human excellence. Students learn each subject's implications for what it means to be a human being and what we may contribute to the future well-being of the world.

The Leading People and Organizations area  is a newly formed group that includes John Hollwitz, Ying Hong, Robert Hurley, Michael Pirson, Esther Solomon and James Stoner. We conduct active research in the fields of character, leadership, teamwork, trust, human resource management, humanistic management, change management, sustainability innovation and publish regularly in the various fields' top journals (Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Organization Science, Business Ethics Quarterly etc.). Many of our members also exercise editorial leadership in some of the fields' leading journals.

For this position, we are seeking candidates who are maintaining an active research program that focuses on contributions in Organizational Behavior, ideally with a connection to the broader field of leadership for global sustainability or for management of the future workforce (e.g., management with big data, leveraging increasing workforce diversity as an organizational asset, artificial intelligence, employee well-being and workforce development, etc.) Moreover, as our student body becomes increasingly diverse, we strive to attract diverse, talented teacher-scholars committed to inclusive pedagogical practice that engages and affirms all of our students. The successful candidate will demonstrate promise in making a significant research contribution to the field, and is expected to teach Leading People and Organizations classes in our undergraduate and graduate programs, and support the university's mission to educate individuals in service to the world.

At Fordham, we firmly believe that cultural and intellectual diversity is central to the excellence of our academic program and our institutional vitality. As an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity employer, we welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. Women, people of color, veterans, and people with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply. Hiring is contingent upon final budget approval by the University.

Applications should include:  (1) a cover letter, (2) a research statement, (3) a teaching statement, (4) a curriculum vitae, (5) 2 research papers, (6) a record of teaching evaluations (if applicable), and (7) three references. Please compile your application documents into one PDF file, using your last name (e.g., vanJaarsveld.pdf) as the file name, and submit the application to Interfolio at https://apply.interfolio.com/66125  The deadline for submission is Sept 30, 2019. Questions about this position should be addressed via email to Michael Pirson, Area Chair, at pirson@fordham.edu.
