2020 Western Academy of Management
Doctoral Student Consortium
March 18-19, 2020
The Annual Doctoral Student Consortium hosted by the Western Academy of Management (WAM) will be held at the Hilton Waikoloa Village on the Big Island of Hawaii (https://www.wamonline.org/accommodation) on March 18-19, 2020, as part of the WAM Annual Meeting. We invite doctoral students at all stages in their program to apply. Please share this information with anyone who may be interested in applying.
What and When
The Doctoral Student Consortium begins at 3:00 pm on March 18th and continues on March 19th until the opening session for WAM 2020. Attendees should be available to attend the full two days of sessions. The program is designed to enhance students' development as researchers and teachers, as well as to provide important networking opportunities including with the 2020 Ascendant Scholars and the Journal of Management Inquiry's (JMI) Scholars, Linda Smirch and Marta Calas from the University of Massachusetts and Nancy Harding from the University of Bath. Students will also receive feedback on a research proposal or developmental paper that will need to be submitted prior to the consortium, in February. New this year is a breakout session tailored to students' progress within the Ph.D. program (early versus later stage), addressing the unique challenges that arise at each stage.
Attendees will receive a $100 stipend to support travel expenses. Dinner on Wednesday evening and breakfast and lunch on Thursday will be provided, courtesy of WAM.
