    TESTING THE WATERS:
DEVELOPING FRAMEWORKS FOR THE ORGANIZATION OF WATER

    AoM 2018 PDW

    Sponsors: OMT, ONE

When & Where: 2:15 to 3:45pm, Saturday Aug. 11th, Marriott McHenry

The World Economic Forum has declared water crises the leading economic risk facing the global economy. Evidence of these crises range from news breaks of droughts from Cape Town to California and water-based migrations across Africa and the Middle East, to water quality and affordability emergencies in the U.S. industrial heartland cities of Flint, Toledo and Detroit. While managers across industries are already recognizing the implications for strategy, governance, and other business aspects, academic research on the meaning of water and water crises for organizations is almost non-existent.

This PDW aims to stimulate such research. A panel discussion of emerging experts will consider water issues from a variety of disciplinary perspectives including strategy, business economics, innovation, policy and governance, institutions, and movements. This will be followed by a deep-dive into available data and round-table discussions with individual panelists. We hope you can join us!
