    Call for 2 Research Chairs in Environment and Economy, and in Environmental Policy at the University of Ottawa! (open to U.S. citizens only)

     

    Apply for our Fulbright Visiting Research Chairs in Environment and Economy, and Environmental Policy at the University of Ottawa!

    Fulbright awards to Canada provide a prestigious professional development opportunity for faculty and highlight the university's robust academic image.

    The chair holders in Environment and Economy, and Environmental Policy will research policy-relevant aspects of building an environmentally sustainable economy and shifting towards greener growth, from an economic, policy, legal and/or business perspective.  They will be part of an inter-disciplinary team at the Institute of the Environment, which is home to Sustainable Prosperity, Canada's main environment-economy think tank and research network.

Smart Prosperity Institute has built a strong reputation for policy relevant, environment-economy research, and connecting scholars with decision makers (government) and key influencers (business, NGOs, media).

    • The Institute of the Environment offers an interdisciplinary Master's Program in Environmental Sustainability that has a focus on economic, science, law and policy.

     

    General Eligibility Requirements:

    • American Citizenship

    • A Ph.D. or equivalent professional degree, or significant professional experience.

    • The University of Ottawa is an English speaking institution, however, some resource material may be in French. French is not required but would be an asset.

     

    Award Details:

    • Grant length: 1 semester (4 months), September 2019 and August 2020

    • Deadline to apply: September 12th, 2018

    • Stipend of up to $25,000 USD

    • Grantees on 4 month exchanges may seek an unfunded extension for up to 8 months.

    All awards are subject to the availability of funding, approval by the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board (FFSB), and compliance with FFSB and USG guidelines.
