    Dear ONE colleagues,

As the new chair of the ONE Division, I would like to thank everyone for contributing to a great program this week in Chicago and Glen Dowell for being our chair for the past year. Our Program Chair, Judith Walls, did a great job in putting together many very interesting sessions during the scholarly program as well as organizing and chairing a very provocative Plenary on breaking the spiral of silence. The first few days also saw some fantastic PDWs that Jeff York selected as our PDW Chair. The doctoral and junior faculty consortia were very energetic events that have hopefully made many young scholars enthusiastic about ONE.

In the many conversations I had with many of you one topic surfaced regularly, why were not all sessions on sustainability part of the ONE program. I noticed this as well, but actually see this as a great success. Sustainability has become relevant across the Academy. A clear proof of that is the fact that two papers in our program won the two main Academy-wide awards for papers in the program.

The Carolyn Dexter Award was won by Samuli Patala, Laura Albareda and Minna Halme with their paper "Polycentric Governance of Privately Owned Resources in Circular Economy Systems". The Carolyn Dexter Award is awarded to the paper that best meets the objective of internationalizing the Academy.

Ryan Merrill won the William H. Newman Award with his paper "Carbon Risk, the Green Paradox, and Strategic Behavior in the US Petroleum Sector". The William H. Newman Award is presented to the best paper in the program based on a dissertation.

Please join me in congratulating Samuli, Laura, Minna and Ryan on these great achievements.

As mentioned during the Business Meeting, I hope you will start thinking soon about ways to make next year's program in Boston even better. In addition to proposing great papers, PDWs and symposia I would also like to draw your attention to the possibility of organizing off-site events. Such events can be of a social nature, such as forming a vegan group to share dinner with, or of a more activist nature. Ideas that have been mentioned include a hackaton or bootcamp to develop ideas for how to engage with business or how to further green the Academy through concrete action. Another idea that has been raised is doing service projects in Boston so we can also give something back to the local community. We could for example work with a local NGO to do activities in the area of sustainability while we're in Boston. If you have ideas for organizing a specific event or project please get into contact with me.

I'm really looking forward to working with you this year. And, while the Boston meeting seems far away, we can use AoM Connect in the meantime to develop activities in the virtual space.

    All the best!

    Jonatan Pinkse
