We are hosting a paper development workshop for our upcoming special issue for Organization and Environment on:

"Between Circular Paralysis and Utopia: Organizational Transformations towards the Circular Economy"

Deadline for short papers is April 17!

The editorial team Nancy Bocken, Jonatan Pinkse, Nicole Darnall, and Paavo Ritala will help authors in shaping their paper projects towards a better fit with the goals of the call for papers.

In short: we are looking for papers that address organizational transformations towards circular economy from a strong sustainability perspective.

We are looking to go past "circular utopia" - we do not want to assume that there is an automatic synergy for companies whenever they do something "circular". There need to be concrete synergies and concrete environmental (if possible, net positive) benefits.

At the same time, we want to go past "circular paralysis" - we understand that most companies are not truly addressing the new economic model envisioned in circular economy. We need to find ways also for the old guard to make concrete, useful, and impactful transformations to their organizations, strategies, and business models.
