ear Colleagues,
Please allow me to draw your attention to these three calls for papers for the 25th European Academy of Management Conference 2025 in Florence:

Track 11_04 Exploring Organizational Purposes: Multifunctional Approaches to Resilience, Leadership, and Management Practice
Short description: We invite paper submissions focusing on the crucial components that enable organizations to thrive in challenging environments. This track explores the strategies and leadership practices that build resilience, ensuring long-term sustainability. It also addresses how organizations fulfil multiple purposes-political, economic, educational, and scientific. Thus, we are looking for conceptual as well as empirical studies that investigate multifunctional approaches to management and organization. The goal is to comprehend how organizations may handle uncertainty, keep things running smoothly, and produce long-lasting benefits across a range of roles.

Track 12_04 Management History, Theory, and Philosophy
Short description: The track "Management History, Theory, and Philosophy" addresses the historical development of management and related areas (e.g., entrepreneurship, international business, marketing, retailing, strategy, accounting, auditing, management tools, etc.), including the evolution of concepts, theories, and practices. It also focuses on the application and development of historical research methods and the philosophical foundations of management theories and practices. We aim to encourage theoretically oriented social science history and its methods, with a clear relationship to present-day debates and practices in the management discipline.

T14_03 General Management and Management Learning: Science and Education for Purpose
Short description: The concept of general management suggests that all organisations are similar enough to be managed in the same way. This idea has been challenged not least by humanistic management perspectives, which emphasise differences in organisational purpose and culture. However, the growing consensus that all organisations should address today's grand challenges implies the need for shared goals and principles across all types and divisions of organisation. This raises the question of whether our increasing focus on purpose and missions in management implies a general management approach, and if so, how this idea can be translated into an equally holistic management education.

My co-proponents and I eagerly anticipate your submission.
