ONE-SIM Divisions' 2025 Junior Faculty Consortium

The ONE-SIM Junior Faculty Consortium is an annual event that provides an opportunity for early-career faculty members and postdocs who are members of the Social Issues in Management (SIM) and/or Organizations and the Natural Environment (ONE) divisions to network with senior faculty members, to learn and to develop their research ideas. In addition to receiving feedback on a working paper, there will be activities to generate dialogue around issues relevant in an early career stage such as building a coherent research and teaching program in time for key evaluation milestones, developing a scholarly identity and assuming leadership, balancing work and life as an early career scholar, and publishing ONE/SIM scholarship in leading journals.

We would like to invite applicants to register for the ONE-SIM Junior Faculty Consortium. The application deadline is May 31st, 2025. The half-day event takes place on Saturday July 26th, 2025.

The following senior faculty members have already agreed to participate in the ONE-SIM Junior Faculty Consortium:

    • Georg Wernicke - HEC Paris

    • Weiting Zheng - University of New South Wales

Now, all we need is you! We encourage you to apply early because the event is oversubscribed each year. We also invite deans, department chairs, and other senior or junior faculty members to nominate their colleagues.

The application process is the following:

    • You must be in the first five years of your employment as a faculty member or in a postdoctoral position.

    • Your application must include a short motivationa short CV, and an extended abstract of a working paper (not more than 5 pages). Please also indicate two preferred senior scholars you would like to discuss your research with. We will do our best to respect your choices. Furthermore, please indicate in the application your primary division and 3 topics that you would be most interested in hearing about from senior faculty.

    • Please send your application to Christina Bidmon (c.m.bidmon@uu.nl), with a copy to Sana Chiu (schiu@bauer.uh.edu) by May 31st, 2025.

    • We have a maximum capacity of 30 participants. We will inform all applicants about the outcome of their application at latest by the end of June.

    • Please note that the SIM and ONE divisions might be able to sponsor a limited number of travel grants for a few SIM or ONE members, who do not receive support from their home institutions (it is not guaranteed). Please indicate in your application 1) if you request a travel grant, 2) from which division (SIM or ONE) and 3) a confirmation that your home institution cannot support you. We will inform you of the outcome with the acceptance into the PDW.

The organizers for this year's consortium are Christina Bidmon (ONE), Sana Chiu (SIM), Limin FU (ONE) and Naomi Gardberg (SIM).

The lead sponsor this year is the ONE Division. Please email any questions and comments to Christina Bidmon (c.m.bidmon@uu.nl) (cc: Sana Chiu, schiu@bauer.uh.edu).

We look forward to meeting you in Copenhagen!

    Christina, Sana, Limin, Naomi
