Researcher Position at Global Mangrove Trust
The Global Mangrove Trust is a Singaporean NGO founded by two academics, Ryan Merrill and Simon Schillebeeckx, pioneering fintech solutions for climate finance for blue carbon ecosystems. Since 2017, GMT has co-developed blockchain solutions with DBS and Zilliqa and has been incubated in 2020 by the The Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance as the lead innovation idea for India.
Right now, we are looking to hire a researcher to help us with a project in collaboration with KfW, the German development bank. The ideal candidate would possess prior experience working with coastal forest ecosystems like mangroves and/or community aquaculture and should be eager to develop deeper expertise in these areas. Our projects specifically investigate complementarities between mangrove forestry and organic aquaculture in India and Indonesia.
We hope a fresh candidate can join us for at least a part-time job for 3-6 months, after which we will evaluate options to join GMT full time or potentially join another start-up founded by GMT’s founders.
Given the current situation, only applicants in Singapore will be considered for salaried engagements (EP applications are not possible for part time jobs). Alternatively, candidates elsewhere in South East Asia will be considered without prejudice for remote consulting.
Please send a short motivation (500 words) and a CV to email@example.com to declare your interest.
